At Square One Property Pros, we believe homeowners should know what to expect before their project begins. Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive about our services, pricing, scheduling, and the way we work.

  • Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Square One Property Pros is fully licensed and insured to provide the home improvement services we offer. We are committed to giving homeowners peace of mind through professional workmanship, safety, reliability, and accountability.
  • What areas do you service?

Square One Property Pros serves homeowners throughout Rhode Island. Provide us with your project location, and we’ll be happy to confirm whether we currently service your area.
  • What makes Square One Property Pros different from other contractors?

We believe a successful home improvement experience starts with clear and consistent communication. From the initial estimate through project completion, we keep our customers informed and work to make the process as simple and transparent as possible. Our focus is on quality workmanship, experienced professionals, and making sure you understand each stage of your project.
  • Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. We offer free estimates for qualifying home improvement projects. Share some details about your project and what you would like to accomplish, and we’ll help you determine the appropriate next steps.
  • How do you determine the price of a project?

The cost of a project depends on its specific requirements and overall scope. Factors may include the size of the project, labor, materials, preparation, removal and disposal, accessibility, existing conditions, and other project-related needs. We clearly outline the scope of work so you understand what is included in your proposal before work begins.
  • Do you require a deposit?

A deposit may be required depending on the type and scope of the project. If applicable, all deposit requirements and payment terms will be clearly explained in your proposal or contract before work begins.
  • What types of home improvement projects do you handle?

We provide a variety of home improvement services, including roofing, siding, windows, doors, flooring, interior painting, and exterior painting. Whether you are improving one area of your home or planning multiple projects, we can help you determine the right approach.
  • Do you handle both small and large projects?

Yes. We work on home improvement projects of various sizes, depending on the scope of work and our current availability. Contact us with your project details, and we’ll determine whether your project is a good fit for our services.
  • Do you provide the materials, or can I purchase my own?

Most projects include professional-grade materials sourced through our established supplier network. If you already have materials or prefer a specific manufacturer, product, color, or style, let us know during the estimate so we can review your preferences and discuss the available options.
  • Do you offer a warranty on your work?

Yes. Warranty coverage depends on the type of project and the materials selected. Any applicable workmanship and manufacturer warranties will be explained in your proposal, so you clearly understand the coverage associated with your project.
  • What happens if there is a problem after the project is finished?

Our responsibility doesn't disappear when the project is complete. If you believe there is a legitimate workmanship or warranty issue, contact us. We will review the concern and determine the appropriate resolution based on the work performed and applicable warranty coverage.
  • How long will my project take?

Project timelines vary depending on the size and scope of work, material availability, weather, existing conditions, and the type of project being completed. We will discuss the anticipated project duration before work begins and communicate with you if something affects the expected schedule.
  • Do I need to be home while the work is being completed?

Not necessarily. It depends on the type of project. For many exterior projects, homeowners do not need to be home throughout the work. Interior projects require access to the home, but we can discuss access and scheduling arrangements before your project begins.
  • Can you give me different options to fit my budget?

Yes. When appropriate, we can provide different material or project options so you can compare price, appearance, performance, and long-term value. Our goal isn't simply to sell you the most expensive option. We want to help you choose an option that makes sense for your home, your goals, and your budget.

Typical Project Pricing

We believe homeowners should have a reasonable idea of what a home improvement project may cost before scheduling an estimate.

The following examples are provided as general budgeting guidelines only. They are not quotes or guaranteed prices.

Every home is different. Final pricing is based on actual measurements, materials, existing conditions, preparation requirements, accessibility, and the complete scope of work.

  • How much does a typical architectural shingle roof cost?

For budgeting purposes, a typical residential architectural shingle roof of approximately 2,500 square feet of roof surface would generally cost between:

    $15,625 – $16,250

This range assumes a relatively straightforward architectural shingle roof replacement under normal installation conditions.

The final cost can vary depending on roof pitch and complexity, height and accessibility, the number of existing roofing layers, decking condition, flashing and ventilation requirements, removal and disposal, and other project-specific conditions.

An inspection and accurate roof measurement are required before we can provide a final project price.

  • How much does it cost to paint the exterior of a 1,500-square-foot house?

For a typical 1,500-square-foot home, exterior painting with basic preparation, two coats of paint on the body of the home, and two coats on the trim would generally have approximately:

    $6,500 in labor

Paint and other materials typically add approximately 20% of the labor cost, or around $1,300 for a project of this size.

That puts a typical project at approximately:

    $7,800 including estimated materials

This example assumes the home requires only basic preparation.

It does not include significant scraping or restoration, carpentry or wood replacement, major surface repairs, painting doors, or other work outside the standard painting scope.

Homes requiring additional preparation, repairs, or specialty work will be priced accordingly.

  • How much does it cost to paint the interior of a 1,500-square-foot house?

For budgeting purposes, a typical 1,500-square-foot interior painting project would generally have approximately:

    $8,500 in labor

Paint and other materials typically add approximately 20% of the labor cost, or around $1,700 for a project of this size.

That puts a typical project at approximately:

    $10,200 including estimated materials

Actual pricing depends heavily on the scope of the project, including the number of rooms, ceilings, trim, doors, number of coats, existing colors, wall condition, preparation requirements, repairs, and other project-specific factors.

We will evaluate these conditions during the estimate and provide a price based on your home's actual needs.

  • How much do replacement windows cost?

A standard-size vinyl double-hung replacement window typically costs approximately:

    $1,000 per window installed

This includes the window and basic labor to remove the existing window and install the new replacement window.

This example assumes a standard replacement installation with no significant structural modifications.

If damaged framing, rot, water damage, or other conditions are discovered that require additional carpentry or non-standard installation work, those items would cost additional.

Window size, manufacturer, glass package, energy-efficiency options, color, configuration, and other upgrades can also affect the final price.

A Note About Our Pricing

We provide these examples because we believe homeowners deserve a realistic idea of what their project may cost before scheduling an estimate.

These prices are intended as budgeting tools—not advertised package prices or guaranteed quotes. Your project may cost more or less depending on the size and condition of your home, materials selected, preparation requirements, accessibility, and the actual scope of work.

The best way to determine your project's actual cost is to have Square One Property Pros evaluate the property and provide an estimate based on the work your home actually needs.
